Service Description: The Smart Growth Concept Area data includes just over 200 existing, planned, or potential smart growth locations. Planning professionals from the region’s jurisdictions — each of the 18 cities and the county — provided the recommendations for these specific locations. In addition to input from the cities and county, feedback from the public also was important in creating the data for inclusion in the Smart Growth Concept Map. The SANDAG Board of Directors accepted the initial Concept Map in 2006. The Board accepted the most recent technical update in 2016.
